Hi, I’m Rhesya Agustine.
I’m a writer, marketing strategist, occasional stand-up comedian, and someone endlessly fascinated by why human beings do the things we do.
For more than a decade, I’ve led peer support groups for survivors of sexual violence through Lentera Sintas Indonesia.
As a survivor myself, sitting with thousands of survivor stories has taught me something no textbook ever could: trauma is deeply personal, but the way we respond to it is profoundly shaped by culture.
That’s what this website is about.
VaginaSauna explores trauma, psychology, relationships, digital culture, gender, and the wonderfully confusing experience of being human. Sometimes through research. Sometimes through personal stories. Sometimes through sarcasm.
Lately, my work has focused on developing Cultural Survivorship, a framework exploring what it means to recover not only from trauma itself, but also from its digital and cultural afterlife. In a world of algorithms, screenshots and permanent online memory, surviving the event is often only the beginning.
Not every article here is heavy.
Some are thoughtful.
Some are ridiculous.
Most are somewhere in between.
Curiosity brought you here.
I hope you find something worth taking with you.
Love,
Rhesya
